This page explains how Unpikl makes money and how that may affect what you see. We're publishing it because you deserve to know — not because we're required to bury it somewhere you'd never read it.
How Unpikl Makes Money
Unpikl is free for you to use. We make money when you ask to be connected with help and we refer you to a third-party provider — that provider may pay us a fee or other compensation for the referral. You don't pay us anything, and a provider's compensation to us isn't taken out of your pocket directly, but it's part of how their business, and ours, works.
Compensation Can Influence What You See
Because we're paid by providers, compensation can influence which categories of options we show you, which providers we connect you with, and the order they appear in. We try to show categories that are relevant to what you told us in the assessment, but relevance and compensation aren't the same thing — assume both play a role.
Not an Endorsement or a Recommendation
A category or provider appearing in your results is not our endorsement or recommendation of any specific company, product, or professional. It's a starting point for your own research, not our opinion that it's the best or right choice for you.
Not an Offer or a Determination of Eligibility
Nothing shown in the assessment is an offer, a quote, a pre-qualification, or a determination that you're eligible for anything. We don't check your credit, and no automated decision is made about you. Whether you actually qualify for, are approved for, or benefit from anything is entirely between you and the provider.
You're Free to Shop Around
You're never required to work with a provider we connect you with. You're free to ignore our results entirely, research options on your own, or work with any company you choose — including ones we didn't show you.
